Main Theme: Walking the Ancient Path to Find Rest for Our Soul
Day 4: The Ancient Path of Obedience
📖 Scripture Reading:
John 14:15
“If you love me, keep my commands.”
Walking the ancient path requires obedience—a willingness to do what God commands, not just hear or know it. Obedience is the fruit of love and trust; it is the practical expression of our relationship with God.
Jesus made it clear: love for Him is demonstrated through obedience. This isn’t about legalism or burden but about living in harmony with the One who loves us perfectly. Obedience aligns our will with God’s and opens the door to His rest.
The ancient path is a path of surrender. Like Abraham who obeyed God’s call to leave his homeland (Genesis 12:1-4), or Samuel who responded, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10), we too must be ready to listen and obey.
Obedience brings peace because it removes the conflict of trying to control life alone. When we submit, God leads us to places of rest and blessing.
As you fast today, reflect on areas where obedience may be lacking. Ask God for grace to obey fully, trusting His ways are best.
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” – Luke 11:28
